Basically,
my story is as follows:
Sometimes it's very
difficult to talk about. I was 10yrs. old when I met the
trio. My father was a Houston police officer and
joined a country club in the Heights area of Houston as
many other police officers did. My brothers and I were
swimming when Henley and Brooks came and invited my older
brother to one of Corll's "parties". My father gave him
permission to go, but told him he would have to take me
and my other brother and promise to watch over us. When we
arrived there were a lot of other kids and adults there
sniffing paint, smoking pot and drinking beer. As the
"party" unfolded I was forced to inhale the paint and was
then sexually abused.
I continued to attend
these "parties" for approximately 2 1/2yrs. until February
1972. At that time, my oldest brother, Rusty, went to one
of these "parties" alone and never returned home.
I later identified his
body on July 3, 1985. He had been in the local morgue for
12yrs. By this time my father had died (1980) and my other
brother, Doug, had also died (1981). The glue and paint
left me with a chronic and progressive lung disease among
other things.
Henley and Brooks became
eligible for parole in 1983 and I have been publicly
opposing their release since that time. I am a very vocal
victims rights' advocate in Houston, Tx. At the present
time, Henley is eligible for parole and Brooks was denied
parole once again for three years. His parole hearing was
in Angleton one month ago. I hope to get Henley denied for
three years again also.
I still reside in
Houston with my husband of 19yrs. I have no children but,
hope to start a family soon. Henley recently had an art
show at the Hyde Park Art Gallery in Houston which I
strongly opposed. However, he sold 23 paintings valued at
a total of $8,000.00. The art gallery owner collected 40%,
his mother collected 30% and another 30% was donated to a
Montrose clinic. Please see the Houston Chronicle article
in the Metropolitan section dated Feb.1, 1997. The event
was also viewed nationally on CNN.
Susan's new website!
created by me, UPDATE: That site ( survive911 ) has
been down for at least 26 years but there was a lot of
women helped through that site and by Susan.
