This ghost story was sent in by Sherry:
My great aunt took my great grandparents
into her home during WWII. They lived out the
remainder of their lives in her home. The only
recolection that I have of my great grandmother (Granny) is
of her as a stroke patient, lying in bed in the front room
of this house. She died when I was 8 years old. As an
adult, I moved into this house while my aunt was in the
nursing home. Any of the family that would talk about
it, agreed that Granny's spirit was still in the
house. She seemed to be upstairs, and we generally
avoided the area. On a sunny afternoon I was hanging
out clothes, my 2 year old playing in the basket.
Glancing at the upstairs window, I saw her. Standing
in the window was Granny. She was dressed in a small
print dress (tan with a black design). Her hair was
combed back neatly in a bun, and glasses in place. Her
appearence was that of a living being, not
transparent. It was very clear to me by the expression
on her face that she was not happy about my being
there. It was all I could do to pick up my son and get
out of there.! Later I talked to my cousin about
it. We decided that she was probably angry, because my
aunt was no longer in the house. When my aunt died a
couple of months later, the house seemed to be clear of all
extra spirits.
